Oracle Buys NetSuite
On July 28, 2016, Oracle announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire NetSuite, the very first cloud company. The proposed transaction is expected to close in 2016. Until the transaction closes, Oracle and NetSuite will continue to operate independently.
In 1998, NetSuite pioneered the Cloud Computing revolution, establishing the world's first company dedicated to delivering business applications over the Internet. Today, NetSuite provides a suite of cloud-based financials / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and omnichannel commerce software that runs the business of more than 30,000 companies, organizations, and subsidiaries in more than 100 countries.
The addition of NetSuite will enable Oracle to expand its ability to support customers of any size in more industries and more countries.

Oracle Unified Business Process Management 11g no longer qualifying
After July 1st 2016, Oracle Unified Business Process Management 11g Specialization no longer qualifies for the Specialization Benefits, however specialized partners will retain their Oracle Unified Business Process Management 11g Specialization until the version of the product reaches End of Service Life (EOSL).
Please consider working towards the criteria and applying for Oracle Business Process Management Suite 12c, the current product version specialization.

PCS Travel Request Management – Process Form Creation by Red Mavericks

addresses the use of Oracle's Process Cloud Service to build and deploy
a full working Business Travel Request application in 40 minutes.
This
is the first of a series of 4 videos that will guide you through the
application creation process of a BPM application, using near zero code,
which makes it particularly suitable for Business Analysts to also be
engaged.
For this part, the focus is on Process Form Design using
Oracle's PCS Web Form builder, i.e. the process diagram that will guide
the application's general behavior. The use case was made for Link

Training Thursdays: Log Files in Oracle Linux
Learn about log files in Oracle's Linux system administration training.
With Oracle Linux 7, you can manage log files with the journald daemon.
- The journald daemon is a component of systemd that captures various system messages and stores data in structured, indexed journals that support advanced query options and faster search times than traditional log files.
- journald also adds structured metadata to the messages that assist in troubleshooting.
With Oracle Linux 5 or 6, you manage log files with rsyslog.
Managing log files is just one topic covered in Oracle's Linux System Administration training.
You can take the Oracle Linux 7: System Administration training in the following formats:
- Training-on-Demand: Start training within 24 hours of registration, following lecture material through streaming video at your own pace and booking time to perform hands-on exercises when suits your needs.

Upgrading to Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c
The team often fields questions about the upgrade process between versions – and here we have a case study from a customer who has recently gone through that process.Do you like to fly safely?
Eurocontrol is the European organization for the safety of air navigation and consists of 41 member states. It manages the air traffic network, route charging, and working with other organizations to build a Single European Sky. It aims to run safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly operations in a growing market. Annual air traffic currently stands at approximately 10 million flights per year.
Eurocontrol underwent the upgrade from ODI 11g to ODI 12c led by partner Rittman Mead, and found that the entire upgrade process and operation could be planned, the risks could be foreseen and mitigated.
With datasets storing critical air traffic demand data and data pertaining to usage of airspaces, the upgrade had to be repeatable, executed with minimal downtime, and completed without any impact on the existing systems.
