Work Managers Now Supported by Kevin Powe

Work Manager configuration is now supported by MyST Studio and MyST CLI 5.0.1.1, to help make fine-tuning FMW performance that much easier. Here's a quick refresher on self-tuning behaviour in WebLogic Server, along with where to configure objects in MyST Studio.

WebLogic Server provides a number of constraints and request classes used to provide guidelines to WebLogic Server for allocating resources to process work requests, as well as work managers which provide a collection of these constraints and request classes to give an overall behaviour. MyST Studio groups configuration for all of these objects under Work Manager Configuration.

The first displayed entry is Work Managers, but because work managers refer to most other object types, we'll come back to those in a moment.

Configuring Response Time Request Classes

Response Time Request Classes are used to indicate that a given request should be processed within an ideal timeframe, which is expressed in milliseconds. It's important to note that this is not the response time experienced by a client application or end user, but the response time for an individual item of work performed by a server-side component. Comparing Oracle ICS connectors with Workday, Mule, Boomi and Azure by Luis Weir

As SaaS adoption continue to increase in organisations of any size, it's only expected that different cloud vendors will stretch their cloud capabilities to try and increasing their SaaS/PaaS/IaaS footprints. This is particularly true for iPaaS related capabilities, as it seems that every cloud vendor has its own related offering and they push it really hard even if it doesn't really satisfy the majority of integration needs.
The challenge is though, that organisations that don't carefully elaborate a cloud integration strategy and think this through, will almost certainly end up implementing point solutions using whichever iPaaS capability is available for the individual project.  This not only results in vendor lock-in but also increases the complexity and cost of integration.

To avoid this, first step is to of course create a well thought cloud integration strategy however with a clear objective in mind. This should be delivering a platform capable of supporting all integration needs (cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-premise) in a seamless and consistent fashion without redundant infrastructures and capabilities. The concept should be something like this:

However the devil is in the detail, or so it goes.
One of the key reason vendor lock-in occurs is simply because of misinformation. From my point of view, SaaS integration is all about connectivity. So without properly understanding 1) what are the connectivity requirements and 2) what platform best fits these connectivity needs in the short and long term, there is high probability that a solution will not be the right one (may be it will solve the short-term needs, but in the long-run it will probably add more complexity, cost hence risk). 3 Ways to Make Paperwork Less Difficult

$
0
0

Authored by: Sarah Gabot, Partner Marketing Manager, HelloSign

Let’s face it--paperwork, regardless of whether it’s on paper or in the cloud, is no fun. It still takes time and effort to prepare, and if you’re getting it signed, you’re often sitting waiting for the document to return.

Believe it or not, you can make the paperwork even simpler with the help of an eSignature tool.

We’ve listed out three ways you can make paperwork less painful. You can immediately begin applying these to the HelloSign for Oracle Content and Experience Cloud integration today.

Avoid manually reviewing documents with data validation
Human error happens. People accidentally input the wrong information or have typos when filling out forms. That’s why HelloSign created data validation

Data validation is a feature that prevents users from entering incorrect information. For example, if you require the user to type in his or her social security number, you know that only nine numbers are acceptable. No letters. Exactly nine numbers.

Using this feature, when the documents return, there will be fewer errors to comb through and less back and forth between you and the signer.

Increase signer completion rates with mobile-friendly signing
Nearly everybody has a smartphone these days. Being able to handle tasks on-the-go on a smartphone has become a requirement for most people. Signing documents is no exception.

HelloSign’s signing experience is mobile-friendly. Instead of having to pinch on a small screen, the signer experience is intuitive with responsive pages. There’s also progress tracking that shows how many total (and remaining) required fields are left.

A more mobile-friendly experience means that your signers are more inclined to complete the document faster.

Save time by auto-filling documents.
For certain documents, there are fields that you, the document preparer, can pre-fill. For example, if you have a templated document like an offer letter, you can pre-fill fields in the document (eg. job title, salary number) in HelloSign for Oracle CEC.

It’s a quick way for you to prepare standardized documents without having to recreate it every time.

Try it out yourself!
See for yourself how you can simplify paperwork flows using Oracle Content and Experience Cloud and HelloSign. To learn how to get started, email our sales team at oracle-sales@hellosign.com or speak to your Oracle Account rep.

Patch Set Update: DATA RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT 11.1.2.4.344

$
0
0

Patch Set Update (PSU) for Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management 11.1.2.4.x has been released.

This PSU is available from the My Oracle Support | Patches & Updates section.

Oracle Hyperion DRM PSU 11.1.2.4.344
Patch25144391

This Patch Set Update (PSU) requires a full installation. This patch can be installed on a new machine or replace an existing installation.

New Features in this Release:

Two new System Preferences are available (ExternalShareInfo, ExternalStats) to allow an administrator to select a group for each of the two system categories (Stats and Shared Info) so that these can be managed via Shared Services groups (or with an external directory connected to Shared Services).  Internal users can still be added to or removed from those categories manually (in a Mixed configuration), and these will not be touched by the CUP synchronization process.

PreRequisites:

  • New User Privileges for Oracle Repository
    • When upgrading from a Data Relationship Management release prior to 11.1.2.4.330, additional database privileges are required to use release 11.1.2.4.344 with an Oracle repository.  Before running the Apply Updates process on the repository, the existing schema owner must be granted two additional privileges:
      GRANT CREATE TYPE, CREATE SEQUENCE TO <user>;

This step is not required when upgrading from release 11.1.2.4.330 or later or when creating a new Oracle repository since these privileges will be automatically applied to the new user.  This step is also not required when using a SQL Server repository.
  • Required User Rights - refer to the readme
  • Memory Configuration - To ensure proper performance, it is strongly recommended that Windows pagefile size on the DRM server be at least 1.1 times system memory with growth allowed up to 1.5 times system memory.  When system memory is large (e.g. 64 GB and higher) the pagefile can be maintained at 1.1 times system memory.  Pagefile sizes smaller than this can lead to serious performance and functional issues.
  • Enterprise Performance Management Architect Patch - In order to successfully integrate Data Relationship Management and Enterprise Performance Management Architect, the following patch must be applied:  Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Architect, Fusion Edition Release 11.1.2.4.000 Patch Set Exception (PSE) 22078964.

Documentation Updates

Refer to the Oracle Data Relationship Management Addendum on the Help Center for the latest updates to the documentation.

If this patch will replace an existing 11.1.2.4.x installation, related components such as Hyperion Foundation Services are not affected.  However, upgrading from a release prior to 11.1.2.4.x will require an upgrade of Foundation Services to 11.1.2.4.

The Readmefile should be reviewed prior to proceeding with this PSU implementation for important information that includes a full list of the defects fixed, along with additional support information, prerequisites and details for applying patch.

It is important to ensure that the requirements and support paths to this patch are met as outlined within the Readme file. The Readme file is available from the Patches & Updates download screen.

The patch install reviews and other patch related information can viewed within the My Oracle Support Communities. Visit the Oracle Hyperion EPM sub-space:
