Content Highlights

Our Application Composer series continued onwards, with articles explaining how to expose custom objects and fields for use in BI Analytics and Reporting, along with details on how dynamic XSD's are used to keep the releated web services updated. Our Java Cloud Service series was also expanded with articles on integration with REST services and implementing security in an ADF web application.

We also provided an article to help clarify where you can trigger customizations, something we've been asked several times. Finally we celebrated our first anniversary of our YouTube channel.

From Other Teams

Angelo, our compardre in Oracle Platform Technical Services published a great article based on his extensive integration work with SI's and partners, sharing the commonly used method of integration.

The Functional Architecture team within Oracle Development published details on the new Release 8 version of Oracle Enterprise Repository, explaining the additional resources and features. 

During June the Oracle A-Team created two interesting articles for those managing on-premises instances, the first regarding tuning of web services and another related to configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c for use with Fusion Applications.

The popular Oracle AppsConnect community portal provided replays and resources for Release 8 information shared during June, including HCM Office Hours: HCM File-Based Loader and an overview of Role Customization Best Practices.

Events and Annoucements

At the end of June a few new products were released, including Oracle SOA Suite 12c (press release) with relevant highlights including the Oracle Managed File Transfer featureand new Oracle Cloud Adapters. Also the new Oracle Mobile Application Framework (MAF) was announced with an overview of the capabilities provided in this datasheet.

Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) held their annual KSCOPE14 conference with lots of content on the middleware and features used in-and-around Fusion Applications. We worked with Gary from Oracle Education on the content for his customizing Fusion Apps session. For more on KScope, use the Twitter hashtag #KScope14 to get direct links to comments and resources.

The Cloud Expo event in New York an 10-12 June and featured Oracle Cloud content. You can find a summary and hyperlinks here. June also saw the OpenWorld14 content catalog published, with our team involved in several sessions. Start your planning now.

During June Oracle announced a new on-ramp set of services entitled "Customer 2 Cloud " in this article , focused primarily on simplifing the adoption of services for HCM/CX solutions for those with existing Oracle Applications deployments. The article includes a nice infographic summary also.
