We have been asked to publish the latest Statement of Direction for our OBIA Customers, to spread the product strategy that Oracle pursues.
scope:
As part of its Business Intelligence and Applications Unlimited strategy, Oracle continues its long-term strategy investing in BI Applications in an on-going basis and building new capabilities across the product suite. The linked 
KM Doc 1937481.1 provides a statement of direction for the BI Applications products over the next period highlighting the types of investments, planned enhancements, and delivery methods, including delivery packs, releases, and connector updates.
some key points:
- BI Applications will adopt the latest versions of enabling technologies such as updates to OBIEE, the Oracle Database, browsers and operating systems as they become available.
- Oracle will continue to support the 7.9.6.x product series according to the Oracle Lifetime Support policy located at

However, Oracle will no longer develop new content for this series, nor extend the 7.9.6.x support or any series based on an ETL architecture with Informatica.
