To begin with, it all started in Oracle's Bangalore office. I joined Oracle HSGBU on 1st of July 2013. I was always told that the shift from college life to corporate life would be a drastic change but after joining Oracle and undergoing training on various technologies, I still felt I was in college. Time flew by and after completing the trainings I was assigned a team in Hyderabad.

I relocated to Hyderabad and was well comforted by Oracle in Hyderabad too. The team I joined was a newly structured team and was working on a completely new product from scratch. I found everyone equally enthusiastic like me which quadrupled my interest in the work. Everyone was very helpful and believed in mutual learning. First time in my life I came across a group of people with diverse knowledge and expertise clubbed with different age groups working for a single team. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this bunch of people who had same zeal towards learning.

With a lot of learning came a lot of hard-work. Slogging at times when situation demanded I also made sure that I never missed out on an opportunity offered at work. I joined Oracle Hyderabad's very own Toastmasters club and very soon rose to the position of Vice-President for the club. This was an enlightening experience from the learning point of view and helped me add-on to my corporate experience. Being a part of this club, I won several accolades like Oracle Hyderabad Toastmasters best speaker award for the year  2015 and went on to represent Oracle at area level where I earned the third spot.

Along with participating in Toastmasters club meetings and events I actively volunteered for organizing Oracle events which were conducted by Oracle Fun@Work. This was another club involved for organizing recreational events and celebrations for employees. It made sure everyone participated and interacted with colleagues across teams. These activities ensured fun at workplace and helped everyone get noticed for their diverse talents.

The best part about Oracle that I liked was the transparency in the work culture among employees regardless of the hierarchy. Working consistently at workplace, my work was well noticed by the management and my peers. Within a year I was awarded with Oracle Rising Star Award. This was a huge accomplishment for me and kept me motivated at work. After receiving the award just when I thought that it can't get any better than this another milestone came my way. I got to know that I my dedication and consistency at work had earned me a promotion! This made me believe that hard work never goes unrewarded.

To summarize my journey till now, I would say Oracle has given me that platform which is required for every individual to get a head-start at the early stage of career. Ample amount of opportunities at work and a brilliant learning curve makes my stint at Oracle an unparalleled proposition. I feel blessed for having got this amazing opportunity to work for Oracle and getting an ocean full of opportunities coupled with recognition at work. I hope this message reaches out to a wider audience with this blog and help them realize the importance of their career and what it is to be like working for one of the best organizations in the world and growing as an individual at workplace.
