Did you know that according to a leading analyst, that by 2020, over 50 billion devices are expected to be connected via the Internet of Things (IoT), sharing over 40 billion gigabytes of data. This means there is a lot of opportunity in leveraging this new technology to encourage customers to expand their Oracle footprint by using the Oracle cloud platform or Oracle tech stack to collect and sift through data, And customers might be interested in applying analytics to this data with one of Oracle's analytics offerings to understand and analyze data in order to make better and faster decisions. Oracle has been doing a lot of work and research around the use of IoT, so here's a summary of events and assets that are available on IoT.

  • Solutions 2.0 is a leading conference on maintenance and asset management, taking place in Houston, TX, August 3-7. Oracle will be presenting in a session titled "Actionable Insight and the Internet of Things: Improving Asset Performance". In addition, Oracle customers USANA and Noble Energy will be featured at this event.
  • Industry Week recently published an article co-authored by Oracle VP of Value Chain Management Maha Muzumdar and Oracle Principal Sales Consultant, Margie Steele titled "The Internet of Things: Opportunities for a Smarter Supply Chain."
  • Oracle.com has a whole section of information on IoT. You can find that section at www.oracle.com/internetofthings
