Oracle announces the general availability of the newest release of its Agile e6.2 PLM for Industrial Manufacturing product line. Agile e6 is the market leading solution for manufacturers of industrial products such as the automotive, aerospace & defense or machinery industries. Oracle’s recently ended FY15 was one of the most successful years for its PLM for Industrial Manufacturing product line with many satisfied customers having expanded their deployment as well as winning net new customers adopting the solution.
Agile e6.2 newest release comes right on spot as planned by end July 2015. This release is a major evolutionary step in executing Oracle’s product strategy for PLM. Agile e6.2 is developed to offer seamless integration into the comprehensive suite of Oracle Cloud Solutions as well as into 3rd party applications through predefined Webservices. Oracle Innovation Management Cloud, Oracle’s new solution for supporting the early phases of a products lifecycle from ideation to concept design is now fully integrated into Agile e6.2. Among other Oracle Cloud products, Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud, Oracle’s powerful solution to manage the entire project lifecycle, is also available in the same Cloud environment. With that, customers can benefit from the advantages of modern cloud services together with their Agile PLM On Premise to configure and run a hybrid model tailored to their business needs.
Overall Agile e6.2 comes with over 300 product improvements. Among rich enhancements: I18N is now supported for global internationalization and an enhanced AutoVue integration is available to leverage AutoVue’s strong Augmented Business Visualization (ABV) capabilities. ABV allows customers to support compelling use cases such as displaying crucial PLM metadata within a visualized 3D model, or to assign a view file to an Engineering Change Order. On the platform side, Oracle Linux, Java 8 client side, Microsoft Office 2013 and Oracle DB 12c are newly supported. Connectors to integrate PLM into ERP are available such as the Oracle ERP Adaptor for SAP™. Connectors for the newest versions of M-CAD and E-CAD authoring tools are available through Oracle partners. Now also available through Oracle partners is the 3DSemantix innovative shape search engine that does for parts within Agile PLM what Google™ does with text: It finds and displays parts similar to the initial inquiry.
