The Agile PLM Summit 2013 in San Francisco last week was a grand success, and all of us on the Oracle/Agile team couldn’t be more honored, thankful, and proud of the enthusiastic participation from long-time users, new customers, and our devoted partner community.PLM was a major focus of the Summit, beginning with the thoughtful presentation by Oracle’s Rick Jewell, Sr. VP Applications Development, supported by several product experts on Monday afternoon. He explained how companies are can create winning products by building a robust platform for innovation with Agile. He referenced the success of JDSU with this video, who also actually won one of the first annual AGILITY Awards, honoring Excellence in PLM. After Rick Jewell’s presentation, we were treated to a special appearance by John Madden! If you’d like to read an intriguing perspective of how John Madden’s keynote can be related to PLM, I encourage you to read Stephen Porter’s blog article "Gridiron Hijinks at the Oracle Value Chain Summit-PLM and Madden" from Zero Wait-State.On that note, Stephen also wrote a nice summary article about the conference as well “The PLM State-Putting the Final Coat on the Value Chain Summit-Never Ending PLM.”

On Tuesday, the PLM tracks kicked off with a general session on PLM’s Strategy, Roadmap & Update featuring John Kelley, Oracle’s VP PLM Product Strategy; Devendra Singh, Oracle’s VP PLM Development; Mark Davis, Deloitte; and George Young, Kalypso’s CEO. We also had the very special honor of announcing the winners of the first AGILITY Awards, recognizing excellence in PLM before a very full day of customer and partner presentations. Those presentations that are available publicly can be accessed here and include selections from Tuesday’s agenda featuring USANA Health Sciences, Cisco, Tellabs, TRAK Microwave, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Broadcom, Epic Technologies, GoEngineer, Metaldyne, Litens Automotive, Marzetti, Mary Kay, and Elizabeth Arden.

Wednesday’s agenda was equally packed, with customer and partner presentations from Eli Lilly, John Deere, Toyota, Cisco, GE Healthcare, PL Developments, KPIT Cummins, HP, Perception Software, Synaptics, O’Reilly Media, Master Lock Company, JDSU, W.L. Gore & Associates, TRD Manufacturing, and SubZero. Sprinkled throughout were also deep product and use case demonstrations led by our Agile experts. If you were unable to attend, or just didn’t get to catch all the sessions you wanted to join, please take a moment to browse the PLM Summit presentations available online.

All in all, we’re so glad we had the opportunity to get the PLM Community together. From the #ovcsPLM tweets to the exciting news about Agile 9.3.2 and Agile PLM for Process 6.1.1, there was plenty of buzz and positive energy. We are also very thankful for our sponsoring PLM partners for making this possible: Deloitte, Kalypso, KPIT Cummins, Domain Systems, Verdant, Xavor,Mahindra Satyam, GoEngineer, Hitachi, Perception Software, USDM, and Zero Wait-State. Stay connected with us and other attendees by joining the Oracle Value Chain Summit group on LinkedIn and follow our new Twitter handle @OracleValChain. We hope to see an even bigger crowd next year!
