The JavaOne 2013 Call for Papers closes April 12, but as the Embedded Track Lead I'm still looking for a few good Embedded Java talks. Looking for the the submissions thus far I've seen 3 really good talks that are clearly demonstrating Embedded Java. One talk, well it's actually two, focuses on using Embedded Java and the Embedded Java Suite in an alternative energy application. What's really exciting about this presentation is that the embedded piece isn't a standalone implementation but plugs into a Java backend. The other presentation that interests me is using Embedded Java in flow control in a HVAC implementation. Both of these are real world examples of Embedded Java.
Now I know there are a hundreds of garage tinkerers out there that have been experimenting with either Java SE Embedded or Java ME Embedded since the release of both of those products in the last year. Nows the time to show the rest of the world your real world Embedded Java project. But you better hurry up, you only have 3 DAY LEFT to submit a proposal for JavaOne 2013. So put your thinking caps on and pull together that catchy title and abstract and submit a proposal. The Embedded Java Track Review Team is looking forward to your submission.
