The first round of accepted talks are now published and I'm pleased to announce that the Embedded Track has accepted Anja Kroll and Dr. Gert Brettlecker's case study Industrial Product Development: Modular Design in Multiple Dimensions with Java. The abstract says:
The Belimo Energy Valve™ is a valve actuator used worldwide for energy
efficient heating and cooling of buildings. The intelligent valve optimizes
the flow of water locally at the valve without centralized control. The
necessary complex optimization is performed on an embedded Linux board
with Oracle Java SE Embedded directly within the case of the valve.
Java fosters modular design at multiple dimensions. Code modularity is
offered by OSGi. Control logic is graphically designed using building
blocks with an Eclipse-based modeling tool. Finally, the model is executed
at the valve. This session demonstrates, how Java boosts embedded
applications - during design, integration and runtime - by means of
modularity and flexibility.
Join me in congratulating Dr Brettlecker @gertbrettlecker on getting his talk accepted at JavaOne 2013.
In the upcoming weeks we will be doing more of these rolling acceptances so hurry up and get your talks in. You just have until April 12 to get your Embedded Java talks submitted.
