Oracle University has been offering Live Virtual Training Classes since 2008.  The primary goal of Oracle’s Live Virtual Training is to give our students around the world more options when taking Oracle training - without the need for travel or waiting on locally scheduled courses.

Many students have shared with us that they are reluctant to take aLive Virtual Class because they feel like they won’t get access to everything they would get in a traditional course. So we thought it would be a good idea to bust the top 5 myths about Live Virtual Training right here and now.

Myth #1: Live Virtual Classes do not cover same content covered in a traditional classroom course.

Our Live Virtual Classes use the same exact content used in our traditional classroom courses.  Every lesson is fully covered and you get access to the complete course eKit.

Myth #2: Live Virtual Classes do not include Labs.

Every class includes access to labs for hands-on practice. These are the same labs used in our traditional classroom courses.  Live Virtual Class students actually benefit because they can access labs after class hours.  Labs are available 24 hours a day for the duration of the course.

Myth #3: Live Virtual Classes are not delivered by Oracle’s top instructors.

Every Oracle University Instructor is responsible for delivering courses via Classroom Training, as well as online, via Live Virtual Classes.

Myth #4: Every class runs the risk of technical issues that will negatively influence my classroom experience.

As with all training – even in a traditional classroom – technical issues can arise.  However, this shouldn’t prohibit you from taking a Live Virtual Class.  We have a team of Live Virtual Class producers who are available 24x7 to help you before the class starts and throughout the class. Producers respond to any issues instantly to ensure every student has a superior training experience.

Myth #5: Live Virtual Classes are not interactive.

The Virtual Environment delivery platform we use provides many tools to assure interactivity. All LVC Instructors are trained to use the interactivity features in the virtual environment.

Features include:

  • Presentation annotations
  • Desktop sharing
  • Quizzes
  • Live chat
  • Question and answer tool
  • Whiteboard
  • Emoticons - these are icons that communicate to the instructor if a student has a question or if the student is ready to move on.
Most importantly, because instructors are not physically in the classroom, they are motivated to use these tools and make the class as interactive as a regular class.
