When performing incremental updates to an Essbase Aggregate Storage (ASO) outline, depending on the nature of the incremental updates, could trigger either a full or light outline restructure.
When an incremental update triggers a full ASO outline restructure while input data and aggregate views exist in the database, Essbase will clear the aggregate views but the input data will remain.
When an incremental update triggers a light ASO outline restructure while input data and aggregate views exist in the database, Essbase will not clear the aggregate views or input data.
The Essbase Database Administration (DBA) Guide describes what triggers an ASO full vs. light outline restructure.See the following section of the Essbase DBA Guide for more details:

The above section, specifically Table 235 Aggregate Storage Restructuring Levels, will be updated in Essbase v11.1.2.3.000 release documentation to reflect this expected behavior.
This post is only to confirm that depending on the nature of the incremental updates to an ASO outline could trigger a full restructure, which means aggregate views will be cleared; therefore, the performance impact is higher than if the incremental update triggered a light outline restructure.
