The Update Oracle Solaris 10 workflow is one of the new workflow documents, which follows after the Deploy Operating Systems workflow that I talked about last week. It explains the prerequisites and steps involved in updating Oracle Solaris 10.

The left side shows the prerequisites: Before you can update a Solaris 10 OS, you have to deploy libraries and deploy operating systems.
Once you have some Oracle Solaris 10 OSes up and running, you can update them. If your Enterprise Controller is in Disconnected Mode, you'll have to take some additional steps to get OS update content, which are covered in the Using Disconnected Mode how-to. In either connection mode, you use the Creating and Administering UFS Boot Environment for Oracle Solaris 10 how-to if you want to use boot environments, and then use the Updating Your Oracle Solaris 10 OS how-to to perform the actual update.
