Oracle is one of the many companies who have adapted their recruiting strategy to the Social Media trend. We use multiple Social channels to source and to reach candidates across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Some of the most common channels we use are Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, but also local tools such as Vk.com for the Russian Market or Xing for Germany. We are continuously promoting life at Oracle and our career opportunities and also engage with the audience.

If you are wondering why companies are integrating social recruiting into the talent acquisition strategy we need to analyze the importance of this trend with some statistics.

According to a report by the Human Resources company Adecco, many companies think that active candidates in social media have more employment opportunities than those who are inactive in them.

A high percentage of companies from different sectors recognize that they select candidates according to their activity on social networks. Something that candidates seem to agree with, because a significant part of professionals looking for a job claim to have been contacted at least once through these social networks in relation to an employment offer.

LinkedIn is usually preferred by companies to search for potential candidates (63%), followed by Facebook (38%) and Twitter (26%), but there are also other social networks which are gaining importance such as Google Plus or Xing.

Oracle is one of the companies which believe that social networks play an important role in the future of professional recruitment because attracting talent in social media is a further optimization of the recruitment process and saves costs for the Human Resources department.

On the other hand, social media is not only used to recruit candidates. A significant part of the candidate attraction process is ensuring a positive brand experience when potential new employees check you out online. Despite the importance of employer branding, 83% of companies do not develop actions to improve their image in social networks.

Oracle is focused on attracting talented students and graduates across Europe, Middle East and Africa. For this matter we are continuously looking at providing our audience with an accurate image of what they can do at Oracle, what career opportunities they have within the company and our work environment. If we take for instance Germany, we now have 2 new employer branding profiles providing candidates with an insight into life at Oracle: Xing https://www.xing.com/companies/oracleand Kununu http://www.kununu.com/de/all/de/it/oracle-deutschland-bv.
